No. 19 Texas takes on Tulsa

No 19. Texas will take on Tulsa at home this weekend in dual match play. Texas dropped to 11-6 this season after falling 3-4 to No. 21 Arkansas on Wednesday night.

Freshman Harrison Scott dropped one spot to No. 113 in the ITA singles rankings on Monday. Scott has won four of his last six singles matches with two of those wins coming over ranked opponents.

Senior Michael Riechmann and sophomore Adrian Ortiz are featured at No. 61 in the latest ITA doubles rankings. The duo is 8-6 overall and 8-5 in dual match-play this season. 

In singles, redshirt freshman Julian Zlobinsky has an 8-3 record while sophomore Adrian Ortiz is currently 9-3 for the season at Nos. 3 and 4 after defeating Arkansas senior Santiago Munoz, 6-1, 6-0 this past week. 

“We’ve just got to keep playing and keep going,” said head coach Michael Center after the Longhorns lost on Wednesday. “We’ll be excited and ready to play again on Saturday against Tulsa.”

Match play will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday against Tulsa at the Westwood Country Club.
