During Meechaiel Criner's pre-trial conference today, the defense for Criner will be discussing DNA evidence, according to the Austin American-Statesman.
Criner's defense team is trying to get DNA results tossed from his upcoming trial in July using the argument that the testing was flawed, according to the Statesman.
Defense lawyer Ariel Payan said Criner's is not expected to appear during his pre-trial today.
Criner was accused of strangling Haruka Weiser in April 2016.
